Is Shahrukh Khan avoiding the IPL final because of Salman Khan?

Shahrukh Khan will not attend the grand closing ceremony of the IPL 5. Though many believe that he doesn’t want to bump into Salman Khan at the event, the real reason behind SRK’s absence is completely different

We missed Shahrukh Khan at the opening ceremony of the ongoing IPL-5. Apparently, Baadshah Khan wanted to avoid bumping into his arch-rival Salman Khan, who was performing at the ceremony. And now we hear that SRK will not be attending the grand finale of the popular cricket tournament either, perhaps because Salman Khan is going to perform then. So even if his team Kolkata Knight Riders wins, Shahrukh in all probability will miss the closing ceremony.

Now this news has set many tongues a-wagging. The long-time rivalry between SRK and Sallu bhai has come to the fore once again, but we think the real reason why SRK is shying away from the ceremony is not just Salman Khan’s act! There’s one more individual SRK would hesitate to see or be seen with.

The IPL finale will feature performances from biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Beyonce, Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra! Yes you got that right. Priyanka too will shake a leg at the event. SRK can manage meeting face to face with Salman Khan and handle the situation deftly. But we hear it is Priyanka’s presence that can make things difficult for the RA. One star.

Piggy Chops’ growing closeness to her Don co-star had irked Shahrukh’s wife Gauri. And now if SRK is seen with PC at the same event, the situation could get a bit awkward. It’s better for Shahrukh if people believe that he’s afraid of meeting Salman rather than encountering PC at the do and then face the music at home!

By the way, anyone seen Gauri Khan with her husband lately? Or even without him? It could of course be her interior design project in Pune that is keeping her busy – and invisible – but is there more to that story? We wonder….

'Satyamev Jayate' first episode marks 90 mn viewership

Mumbai, May 16 — "Satyamev Jayate", the much-talked about TV show of Bollywood star Aamir Khan, in its launch episode was viewed by 90 million people and was the highest rated show with 4.1 television rating (TVR), according to Television Audience Measurement (TAM) data.
The first episode, which talked about female foeticide, reached out to 2.67 crore viewers, reported TAM. This, extrapolated to an all India (including urban and rural viewers) reach with Indian Readership Survey (IRS), means that over 90 million viewers tuned in to watch the episode.
"Satyamev Jayate" recorded a 4.1 TVR (TAM, All India that includes viewers over four years old) debuting ahead of "Kaun Banega Crorepati 5", which registered a 3.5 TVR in 2011. The data covered the entire Indian market, including cable and terrestrial homes, where only DD is beamed.
The first episode of "Satyamev Jayate" was aired May 6 in eight languages on nine channels, including seven STAR TV network channels, ETV Telugu and national broadcaster DD1.
The show has seen huge positive sentiment across viewers. It has generated much buzz on internet with "Satyamev Jayate" recording more popularity than its host Aamir on search engine Google India. It also trended on Twitter, occupying the top five slots out of 10.
The show airs every Sunday at 11 a.m.

Salman roars in 'Ek Tha Tiger', teaser gets roaring response

Mumbai, May 17 — Salman Khan jumps, punches and kicks like never before in "Ek Tha Tiger". The teaser of Kabir Khan's film has just been released and it has received a positive response from the film fraternity as well as the fans.
The teaser went online Thursday and it has also been released with the film "Ishaqzaade" Friday. Anurag Kashyap describes it as "intriguing", while Preity Zinta says Salman "rocks" in it.
The trailer suggests the Yash Raj Films (YRF) production is about intelligence agencies of India and Pakistan, and narrates the story of an agent named Tiger, essayed by Salman.
The trailer is purely action based, and hints at the core idea of the film. However, the romance bit of the film is not shown in the teaser as there is not a single footage of Salman with his co-star Katrina Kaif in it.
Nevertheless, it has hit the right chords with industry members, critics and trade analysts, who have lauded the teaser, which has Salman firing guns, jumping from quite a height, fighting ruthlessly and ultimately, walking with an intense look on his face.
Kashyap tweeted: "'Ek Tha Tiger' trailer is super awesome... very slick and very intriguing... super curious now... and envious... jaldi dikhao (show it quick) sir."
Preity wrote: "Saw the trailer of EK THA TIGER n Omg! Salman Rocksss!!!"
Filmmaker Goldie Behl was also all praise for the teaser, which jammed the YouTube view meter within three minutes of its launch and caused the YRF server to be in danger of crashing, according to Khan.
"'Ek Tha Tiger' teaser is awesome! Very rarely do we see commerce and art woven so seamlessly together kabirkhankk has rocked it," tweeted Behl.
Film critic Anupama Chopra, a Shah Rukh Khan loyalist is in awe of Salman after watching the trailer.
"Loved the trailer of 'Ek Tha Tiger'. Think I am finally ready to convert to the cult of Salman," Chopra said in her feedback, while film critic Taran Adarsh wrote: "'Ek Tha Tiger': It's the Baap of all promos. AWESOME. This one will shatter every record in sight. Await the new hurricane by."
Khan, who has earlier directed "Kabul Express" and "New York", is happy with the response.
"Thank you for the overwhelming response to 'Ek Tha Tiger' teaser," he tweeted.
The film, which will also see Katrina indulging in some daredevilry, is slated for an Eid release this year.

CBSE class X, XII results likely to be declared in coming week, ICSE class X results on May 19

The results of the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) Class X and XII examination conducted this year, are likely to be declared in the coming week. The exact date for the results has not yet been specified by the board.
The result of Indian School for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class X examination will be declared on May 19 at 3 pm, and Class XII results will be declared in the third week of this month.
Students can visit the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) website to view the results.
According to CBSE officials, students will receive SMS alerts on their respective mobile numbers registered with the board, when the results will be declared.
Students will be provided specific phone numbers on which they can either call or SMS and seek results after providing their roll numbers.
The results will be uploaded on the website of the board, and students will also be able to view their results on a separate link created for results at the website. Students will only have to provide their roll numbers and names on the link.
The phone numbers where students can call and ask for the result details have not yet been released by the board.
CBSE Regional Director RJ Khanderao said, “We have to identify service providers for the purpose of telephonic access to results. Soon we will release the numbers on our website. We will recommend students and parents to check the updates on the website on a daily basis.”

For CBSE Class X, the results will be declared in terms of grades and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) calculated out of 10 points. For CBSE Class XII, marks are calculated out of 100 per subject.
For ICSE Class X and XII exam, the total 100 marks per subject are divided in a way that 80% marks are based on evaluation of the final examination and 20% are based on internal assessment conducted in schools.
