IIST ISAT exam 2012: Results out today

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) will declare ISAT results 2012 on 23rd May, 2012 at 2pm.

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology’s IIST Admission Test-ISAT 2012 was conducted on April 21, 2012.

How to get results:

IIST ISAT results 2012 would be published at: http://www.iist.ac.in/isat2012/ online.

Complete details regarding ISAT results 2012 would be revealed after the declaration of the result. Students may be able to check IIST ISAT results 2012 by visiting official website after 2PM onwards.

ISAT 2012 took place from 9 am to 12 noon across twenty-two cities in the country.

Clearing ISAT 2012 will enable students to take admission to the Under Graduate Programmes (B. Tech) at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram for the year 2012.

Candidates are requested to be patient while checking the results due to heavy traffic on website.

SSC results put off by a day

SSC students who have been eagerly waiting for their results will have to wait for one more day to know their fate. The directorate of government examinations will now release the results only on Thursday, instead of Wednesday. 

A day before the scheduled date for announcing the results, the directorate postponed it by one day as minister for secondary education K Parthasarathi will be back in the city only on Thursday from his bypoll campaign in Tirupati. 

This is the second time that the directorate had to postpone the results to suit the minister's schedule. Though the initial plan was to release the results at 11 am on Wednesday the officials had to postpone it to 4.30 pm the same day as the minister was to attend a party meeting. 

The decision was taken at a short notice. This sudden postponement has heightened tension among students who are apprehensive as to how the CBSE model grading system, which was recently introduced in SSC, would affect them. 

As per the new grading system, instead of marks, just grading (on a scale of 10) will be given in SSC certificates of the students. The directorate officials, however, said that it was the minister's busy schedule that forced them to postpone the results. 

"We had slated the function at 4.30 pm and this seemed not convenient time for students to access the internet for the results. Hence, we decided to defer the timing and postpone it by a day," said B Manmadha Reddy, director, government examinations. 

The decision incensed several students and parents.

The course can be considered a bridge course to prepare students for university education. The admission to this course is based on marks obtained in SSLC or standard 10.

Generally three streams of studies are followed, Art, Commerce and Science. Students desiring to study professional courses in Karnataka must pass this exam in science stream and also qualify in Common Entrance Test conducted by CET cell of government of Karnataka. This is required to get admission (merit seats) in colleges offering professional courses like medicine,engineering,dentistry,nursing and pharmacy.Recently, the Karnatka PUC Board attempted to make the First year PUC exams public in an attempt to filter out bad students and improve overall score. (As only about 40% of students pass the exam, 60% of students who write the exam fail, and only about 1.5% get above 85 as their overall percentage).
