Russia aims at preserving the European Bison, the largest mammal on the continent in Priokso-Terrasny reserve, south of Moscow. European Bison is the largest terrestrial animal in the continent and was hunted to extinction in 19th and 20th century. The other reason for its extinction is the destruction of the forests leaving only a few surviving animals.
But the breeding farms like Priokso-Terrasny Reserve protects the fauna by preserving endangered species and offers a chance to watch the ancient species.
