Students of College of Commerce in Patna staged a protest today against exorbitant examination fees being charged by college authorities.
Students shouted slogans against the government and the college administration.
They alleged that they are charged extra examination fee against the rules.
While protesting against the college administration, a student said, “The college management charge Rs.125 extra and students belonging to the reserved category are also made to pay more than what is the rule. We will continue our protest if the college management will not fulfill our demands immediately.”
College authorities however argue otherwise.
Though they did not deny the fact that they had charged extra from the students they said it was done because category of students was not mentioned on the forms.
Principle of College of Commerce said, “In fee structure the castes were not mentioned whether the students belong to SC, ST, OBC or General category. The money will be refunded when there is a direction from the University on this.”
After media highlighted the matter, the principal of the College also met the agitating students and assured them of justice.
