ONE KG GOLD THRONE MADE FOR THE DEITY IN GUJARAT

Throne of one kilogram gold is being made for the deity at famous Shamlaji temple in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. Interestingly, it is being made by Muslim artisans.The temple has a beautiful sculpture of Lord Krishna as Shamliya bhagwan who is worshipped since ancient times and now gold throne is made for the idol.

“It became possible because of the offerings of devotees,” said Bhogilal Shah, trustee of Shamlaji Temple.
The Shamlaji Temple stands in honour of Lord Vishnu. The magnificence of the temple is enhanced by exquisite stone carvings, idols of gods, nymphs, musicians and celestial dancers, beautiful domed ceilings and a toweing spire. Scenes from the epic stories “Mahabharata” and “Ramayana” grace the walls of this 11th- century temple.
“It is being made from 24 karat gold and coating will be done in three different ways,” said Mohammad Aarif, Muslim artisan.
